There are fifteen different articles on foreign affairs available for readers to choose from in this morning’s edition of news aggregator, Real Clear World. None of the fifteen articles deals with the news about yesterday’s failed talks between Iran and the International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN watchdog over nuclear power. The long-scheduled talks failed to “reach an agreement.”
No kidding.
The theofascism in Iran is never going to stop its nuclear program, which it studiously maintains is solely for peaceful purposes. The IAEA is never going to stop requesting permission to inspect Iranian nuclear facilities to verify the peaceful nature of Iran’s program, because the theofascist government in Iran has such a long track record of past deception about its facilities. There is no room for any kind of agreement unless one or both surrender some fundamental position.
These IAEA/Iranian talks are not ever going to produce an agreement. The nuclear program in Iran is existential for the regime; the inspection process is existential for the IAEA. The only way for them to reach an ‘agreement’–which could easily be achieved in five minutes–is if the nuclear program in Iran was actually solely peaceful.
